Privacy and terms

Vernacular puts productions and native-speaking writers in the same room. Here is what we keep and what we do not do.

What we collect

Your Google account name, email and picture, the profile you write, the briefs and test scenes you post, the script files you attach, the sample rewrites and notes you send, and the messages between you.

Who sees what

Open briefs and writer profiles are visible to signed-in members. A sample rewrite is seen by the production that posted the brief. A full script is seen by its owner and by the writers that owner shortlists. Nothing here is public to the web.

The second read

A language model reads each sample next to the test scene and gives the production a short second opinion. It is shown to the production only, labelled as such, and it never decides anything. The people do.

Money

Vernacular is free on both sides and takes no payments. Fees, rights and dates are agreed between the production and the writer, off Vernacular, and we are not a party to that agreement.

Terms

Vernacular is offered as is, without warranty. Post only material you have the right to share. Do not paste a sample you did not write. We may remove content or close accounts that break these rules. Questions: hello@kikitora.com.
